Abstract

This doctoral thesis is a study aimed at a better understanding of the current situation and the effects of habitat fragmentation caused by roads. The study is divided into sections: on the one hand, it analyses the state of fragmentation of habitats in the Natura 2000 network in Extremadura due to roads using fragmentation indicators. On the other hand, it focuses on the study of noise pollution as a non-visible physical barrier caused by road traffic. In this respect, it focuses on the analysis of the effect of temperature on the level of sound pressure generated.
