Abstract
The San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts has numerous medals among its collection on exhibition. This article studies the formation of the collection, which began with a donation made by Royal Order on January 3rd, 1815, of 15 coins of the period 253-270 A.D. The study and classification of these pieces prompt us to suspect they correspond to the remains of a monetary cache of the IIIrd century which appeared in Spain at around that time.
