This paper reviews the satate-of-the-art of the two eating disorders, anorexia and bulimia nervosa in relation with sport settings. Regarding each one of the mentioned eating disorders, it considered the following items: brief history, concept and diagnostic criteria following the DSM-IV-TR (2002) and CIE-10 (1992) classifications, epidemiology, their relationship with sport, its consequences, as well as assessment and treatment procedures.
