Abstract
This paper is devoted to describe how obtain a multirate discrete system from a given discrete system model. It is assumed that the discrete system model has been calculated by using any of the classical computer identification methods. The proposed algorithm simplifies the calculation of the multirate system for different sampling period ratios. This facilitates the necessary calculations for simulating the behaviour of the discrete systemm between sampling instants. This algorithm can also be used to solve design problem for multirate control systems. The possibilities of the described algorithm are shown with an example.
