Abstract
The paper presents a non-experimental research of descriptive and correlacional character that uses the quantitative as qualitative methodology, in order to describe, understand and analyze those aspects that affect in the expectations or the academic success of the university immigrant students. The results derived from the empirical study emphasize that the academic success depends on the available resources and on the support received of the teachers and peers; whereas the expectations are orientated towards the social and labor profitability of the studies carried out. For its part, the qualitative analysis has allowed us to identify the didactic supports that the students need, as well as the academic, labor and personal and social expectations that contribute to the academic success. Among the proposals and recommendations, the following needs stand out of: intellectual work techniques, personalized and differentiated educational supports, economic and technological resources.
