Resumen
Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) provide new opportunities for people with disabilities to perform daily living activities independently, but their success depends also on other aspects, as stated in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (CIF). This Thesis analyze the problems that influence learning of disabled students in upper limbs using assistive devices for computer access in the courses and present new tools and solutions to identify and avoid or reduce their specifics problems. Essential contributions of this work are: a) a description of the specifics difficulties of these students in the courses and their origins b) new tools to identify those attributable to psychosocial effects of the assistive devices that they are using, to technical errors in the hardware, software or educational material used in the course and to non-compliance of pedagogical quality requirements, c) a design methodology for computer topics courses that considers the requirements of students with and without upper limbs disabilities and has been applied to an example of CAI course completed by a sample of students according to the common educational objectives established
