Abstract

This research is carried out with the purpose of determining the possible relationship between individual differences of sex and personality, and preferences for given types of landscapes. The working hypothesis is that the structure of personality influences the choice of landscape and this influence may be either direct or mediated by personality factors. This hypothesis has been tested with three types of landscapes: I) One of nature only as opposed to one including human beings. II) Hospitable versus inhospitable landscapes, and III) Straight and ordered shapes versus diffuse and rounded ones.
