Abstract
From a broad framework of research, this paper analyses the relationships existing between the circumstances of university study choice and the students’ guidance needs. These circumstances of choice are studied from the university context gathering different aspects such as order of study choice, previous knowledge about the studies, preciously received guidance and the reasons behind the choice. Descriptive and bivariant analysis have been used to contrast the formulated hypothesis and have let us draw some references that can be taken into account in guidance practice in the field of university guidance.
