Resum

Traditionally, work and family life have been studied separately, without taking the interactions that occur between them into account. In this paper we present the Kopelman, Greenhaus and Connolly (1983) Work-Family Conflict Scale applied to a Spanish sample. This evaluates the degree of conflict at work, in the family and the inter-role conflict; that is, the conflict between the requirements and obligations of both work and family spheres. The scale has been applied to a Spanish sample of 250 workers of both sexes, from all over Spain. Factor analysis yielded results that concur with previous studies and that confirm the three subscales of this questionnaire and their acceptable reliability. In order to test the validity of the instrument, we have also studied the relationships between the scores obtained from these scales with other variables theoretically related to conflict (hours devoted to work, job satisfaction, psychological well-being, etc.).
