Resum
Two experiments are reported examining the effects of exposure duration (50 and 250 msec), eccentricity of global and local information (same/different) and size (3°, 6°, 9°, 12° and 15° of visual angle), under conditions which favour local processing dominance. In Experiment 1 stimuli whose global and local levels were at different eccentricity were used. In Experiment 2 stimuli were used whose global and local levels were at the same retinal locus. The results showed that, despite we used conditions favouring local processing dominance, the transition from a global to a local dominance was determined by the different eccentricity of global and local information. The modulation of the effects was affected by the size of stimuli. These results were independent of the exposure duration of stimuli
