Abstract
This study examines factors associated with changes in newcomers' psychological contract perceptions during the socialization process within the theoretical framework of newcomers' sensemaking. More specifically, it is hypothesized that the decision to remain in or to leave the organization will be a function of the psychological contract perceived breach measured during the training period. Moreover, it is hypothesized that self-reported attitudinal and behavioral outcomes will be a function of psychological contract perceived breach measured two years before, during this training period. To test our hypothesis a two - wave longitudinal study among 556 newly hired professional soldiers was conducted.
