Efectos secuenciales en una tarea de detección gustativa: comunalidad entre ambas psicofísicas

Resumen

El estudio de los sesgos de respuesta en tareas psicofísicas ha sido abordado de forma diferente en función de la técnica utilizada, pudiendo distinguir entre las técnicas asociadas a la psicofísica «local» y las asociadas a la psicofísica «global». Este trabajo considera la posibilidad de que un sesgo de respuesta extensamente descrito en técnicas propias de la psicofísica global, los efectos secuenciales, se produzcan también utilizando una técnica de la psicofísica local, tal y como describen en un primer momento Villarino y Garriga-Trillo (1993). Tanto los aciertos como las falsas alarmas considerando dos estímulos gustativos, se ven influidos por variables temporales. La existencia de dichos efectos tendría fuertes implicaciones teóricas. Entre ellas habría que rechazar la estabilidad temporal de las respuestas de los sujetos (asumida en las principales teorías elaboradas desde la psicofísica local), y avalaría, además, las ideas de autores como Luce (1990), Garriga-Trillo (1995) o Baird (1997) quienes intentan fundamentar la unificación teórica de ambas psicofísicas.
