Resumen
El estudio y tratamiento del dolor crónico implica un acercamiento complejo y multidisciplinar. La consideración analítica del dolor, considerando las dimensiones del dolor y el triple sistema de respuesta, ha sido el acercamiento de elección y el que da razón del estado actual en el abordaje del problema. No obstante, desde un punto de vista clínico parece más razonable considerar el dolor desde una perspectiva central e integradora. En este contexto se comentan las tendencias teóricas en la definición del concepto de neuromatrix y prácticas en las consideraciones terapéuticas derivadas de dicha conceptualización.
