Relación de la personalidad tipo D y el agotamiento vital con las emociones negativas y el ajuste psicológico a la enfermedad cardíaca

Resumen

En este estudio se investigaron dos factores de riesgo emergentes en el campo de la enfermedad cardiaca: la personalidad tipo D y el agotamiento vital (AV). Se analizaron las diferencias de sexo con respecto al tipo D y el AV, las emociones negativas (ira-dentro, ira-fuera, ansiedad y depresión) y el ajuste psicológico (competencia percibida, autoestima, satisfacción y apoyo social); y se determinó la capacidad predictiva del tipo D y el AV en relación con todos estos criterios. La muestra se compuso de 164 pacientes cardiacos (40,24% mujeres; 59,76% hombres; edad media = 56,30 años; DT = 12,88). Los resultados mostraron que las mujeres puntuaban significativamente más alto en tipo D, AV, ansiedad y depresión, y presentaban una autoestima más baja. El tipo D y el AV se asociaron con más ansiedad y peor ajuste psicológico. El tipo D predijo también más ira-dentro, y el AV fue predictor de un apoyo social más bajo y de mayor depresión.
