Abstract
The aim of this paper is to assess in which sense it is possible to say that Marxism has an utopian dimension and to foster a Marxism of the contingency open to the new as well as indeterminist. The time of big utopias is over; Socialism was one of the last big utopias. Nevertheless it is thinkable to rescue the value of small utopias linked to the emergence of new singularities, new subjectivities and new objectivities in the social arena. In sum, we need a certain kind of utopian tension �nothing to do with the global and perfect character of big utopias�, when we think the social if we do not accept to consider future as a mere repetition of present.
