Abstract

In a world of increasing globalization and international competitiveness, trade relations are a strategic aspect that has gained even greater significance in recent years. This paper analyses the trajectory of Spanish foreign trade with the rest of the world as well as a more specific study of the relations with Latin America. In the turbulent environment we are living nowadays, it is worthy to point the growing importance of the external sector for de Spanish economy, and specifically, the case of Latin America, which is a particularly interesting region for our trade, due to the privileged position enjoyed by our relationships, owing to the many commonalities existing between us, as the historical laces, the language and the trajectory of trade and business we have set up during the last decades.
