La memoria operativa como capacidad predictora del rendimiento escolarestudio de adaptación de una medida de memoria operativa para niños y adolescentes

Resumen

Entre los factores que median el rendimiento escolar un constructo que ha adquirido particular relevancia es el de “memoria operativa” (MO), como capacidad esencial probablemente relacionada con los componentes fluidos de la inteligencia. Este trabajo presenta la adaptación y validación de una prueba de amplitud de MO (la PAR-a), a partir de un estudio correlacional en una muestra de alumnos de Educación Secundaria. A fin de examinar la consistencia teórica y empírica de la nueva medida se analizó su capacidad predictiva respecto a las calificaciones escolares, así como sus relaciones con otra prueba de memoria operativa y una medida de factor g de inteligencia. Los resultados avalan la validez de constructo y de criterio de PAR-a, al confirmar su valor predictivo y discriminativo respecto a la competencia intelectual general y el desempeño específico en las materias escolares, lo que pone de manifiesto su utilidad en los ámbitos educativos como medida predictora del rendimiento
