Resum
This paper describes the development procedures of a new instrument which assesses envy in children as well as its psychometric properties. The sample consisted of 621 subjects (48% girls and 52% boys) aged 10 to 16. The final version had 21 items divided into two groups (Envious Reaction and Wish for other's belongings). Psychometric analysis showed satisfactory reliability and validity indexes. Adjustment indexes from the confirmatory analysis led to a first order bifactorial structure. Envy ratings were not signifi- cantly different between sex or age groups. The obtained results are discussed according to the reviewed literature.
