Abstract

The main objective of this paper was to evaluate the effectiveness of radically simplified mobile learning through UNEDTrivial tool, developed at the UNED and available as a plug-in on Moodle . The results obtained in relation to the utility and satisfaction of the students agree with those previously found using the UNEDTrivial tool in different subjects of UNED (Sánchez-Elvira Paniagua and Amor, 2017; Santamaría, Sánchez-Elvira, Hernández y Amor, 2016). Likewise, the present study shows the value of the learning with formative feedback that UNEDTrivial provides to improve the students' performance in the final exam. A total of 322 students enrolled in the proposal to carry out this activity that took place throughout the course. The participation was on a voluntary basis without any implication in the final mark. The main conclusion of the study was that the use of UNEDTrivial, not only was positively valued by the students in terms of increased interest and motivation, as well as improved time planning among other beneficial effects, but it contributed also to a better mark in the final exam.
