Resumen

The intellectual exercise involved when analyzing syntactic categories (noun phrase, prepositional phrase, adjectival phrase or verb phrase) related to their semantic interpretation (subjects, complements or adjuncts) is a complex task that can cause some difficulty in the teaching of English syntax online. According to one of the fundamental objectives of this compulsory subject in the degree in English Studies, students must be able to develop their own tree representations according to the exercises proposed in the course To this end, we include in our virtual course an online application that is particularly useful. It is known as Syntax Tree Generator (http://mshang.ca/syntree/). In this communication we show the usefulness of this tool as improvement methodology with an outstanding reception among UNIDIS students, since it facilitates the way to represent syntactic relationships through the use of brackets .
