Resumen
This paper discusses several adaptations of the CEFR that have taken place so far for ESP and specifically for business English. Attention is paid to a novel adaptation of the CEFR which has been undertaken by the ATLAS research group in the context of several research projects. On the basis of the demands of the current international professional world, a system has been designed and developed that teaches business English from a broad functional, communicative and intercultural perspective following the ideas of authors like Vygosky (1978, 1986) and Hofstede (2001).
