Resumen

In the context of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) the new Degree of Primary Education presents some modifications in its structure. In addition, the strategic plan Education and Training 2020 (ET 2020) focuses on the need to invest in initial teacher training for its quality. This is the motive that prompts to carry out this comparative research of 14 syllabuses, which regulate the Degree of Primary Education, offered in the academic year 2016-2017. These syllabuses correspond to four public universities, five centers’ attached to the public universities and five private universities of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. The results show the existence of substantial differences in the title of the degree, in the distribution of credits according to the type of subject, in the requirement of the training of specialists and in the number of practical hours of training. Consequently, the results also indicate that there is no homogeneity in the syllabuses, so the universities have a great margin of maneuver in their design.
