Resum

In 1949, after a successful trip through the United States and Federal Germany, Ortega y Gasset prepared to teach the course on "Man and people", during the second year of activities of the Institute of Humanities, founded in Madrid a year earlier by the philosopher and his disciple Julián Marías. The twelve lessons are given at a cinema Barceló in front of a varied audience represent the most complete exhibition of Orteguian sociology, which had been brewing since the success of his "Rebellion of the Masses" about al, in the 1930s, before the outbreak of war. The objective of this biographical itinerary is the publication of the documents preserved in the philosopher's archive related to the management, development and reception of this course taught between November 1949 and February of the following year.
