Abstract
Rafael Leoz de la Fuente's (1921-1976) first professional experience with Group 122, focused on social housing and residential centre projects, culminated in the construction of the Orcasitas Poblado Dirigido (Guided Housing) at the end of 1950’s. This work involved an intense personal and professional experience, which led Rafael Leoz to start a research challenge that took up a large part of his time as an architect. Rafael Leoz's some drawings are presented here, they were made in 1969, from the newly created Rafael Leoz Foundation for the Promotion and Research of Social Architecture, with the ambitious aim of developing organizational, prefabricated and modular systems and methods to provide housing for everybody, guaranteeing architectural quality but without the constructional limitations of traditional techniques. In the first drawings and its subsequent evolution, the process and strategy of Rafael Leoz is revealed in his research to built a dignified dwelling.
