Abstract
The results on calibrated radiocarbon date obtained upon human bones of a the pre-Beaker Copper Age burial in a small cave at the upper Jarama valley called Jarama II (Valdesotos, Guadalajara, Spain) are shown. The " C date and the two sigma calibrated date are: UBAR-571 4185 + 50 BP and cal BC 2891- 2622 (95,4% of probability). The material culture items allow to relate this date to pre-Beaker Copper Age cultures. It is a new date within the scarce radiocarbon inventory from this period in the Middle Basin of the Duero and Tagus rivers. This new date shows the significance of the pre-Beaker Copper Age in this part of the Iberian Península and together with previous dates it allows to outline the period of the pre-Beaker Copper Age cultures in the aforementioned región.
