Abstract
In the present work we attempt to analyze one of the least known aspects in the radical behaviorist philosophy and in the science of behavior analysis, but at the same time one of the most important ones. That is the scientific approach to the facts, phenomena, processes, behaviors, etc. that can¿t be observed by other organism (private events). For any discipline dealing with its study, these phenomena raise up several problem at different levels: we can find ontological, epistemological, theoretical, methodological and applied problems. Through our exposition we will describe the responses to this problems provided by radical behaviorism and behavior analysis in the historical context of behaviorism. Finally we will compare this account with the proposed by cognitive psychology.
