Resumen
This article shows the data obtained in the research conducted by a model ex-post-facto. We have constructed a questionnaire ad hoc in which we analyse the relationship between Severe Mental Disorder (SMD) and early school dropout. We select those 67 graduates, from a day care hospital specialized in severe mental disorder, who have a disengagement with the centre of at least five years. The ages of the participants are between 18 and 24 years old. With the instruments applied and the obtaining of an internal consistency of .826, we chose to interpret the relationship between variables with Fisher’s exact test. Obtaining p = .026 < .05, we can say that there is a statistical relationship between SMD and early school dropout. We have also been able to observe how obtaining compulsory secondary education is fundamental so that the individual continues structuring their academic life and access to the working world.
