Résumé

Balmori Cave (Asturias) is located 600 m from the homonymous village, and ca. 500 m from the estuary of the Barro River. The Upper Paleolithic archaeological site was discovered in 1908 and Vega del Sella published a perforated osseous plate engraved with a bovine figure belonging to a final Magdalenian/initial Azilian context. In his study, he indicated that the osseous raw material could come from a portion of a great turtle carapace. The aim of this paper is to review and discuss the nature of this osseous plate as some aspects of the decoration technique and use of the hanging plate.
