Resumen

The aim of the study was to verify if the asymmetry between comprehension and production processes, evident in the child during the first stages of language acquisition, is still present between 24 and 36 months for different grammatical categories. For this purpose we have worked with 40 words belonging to two of these categories, several lexical fields, and using two comprehension and production tasks. The results from 20 children of the above ages, allow us to confirm that there is a mismatch that benefits comprehension. The child understands language before s/he can produce it. At this age nouns are also uttered more often than verbs
