Résumé

In this interview, Professor Blee analyses the evolution of white supremacism in the United States, based on her early work in the late 1980s and early 1990s, up to the present day. In the first part of the interview she discusses the role of the internet and social networks in this transformation. She then describes the potentialities and difficulties of qualitative research on the far right, particularly in understanding the role and position of women in these movements. This question has been one of the central elements in Blee's research, and one of the most interesting aspects of the interview: what kind of femininities are developed in far-right movements, or what are the gendered claims of women within white supremacism?
