Resumen

In this paper we provide a review of the literature regarding the economic analysis of digital markets and their most prominent agents, platforms. These markets share features that, due to the impact of digital technology, could hinder competition and create a tendency towards greater concentration. This situation could lead to significant reductions of social welfare and consumer surplus. Therefore, it is important to explore regulatory and competition policies that minimize these problems’ negative impact
