La Virgen de los sicarios (1994) de Fernando Vallejo dialoga con las obsesiones y los temas desarrollados anteriormente por su autor en la pentalogía El río del tiempo y en su producción narrativa y ensayística posterior. Este estudio aborda la única obra de Vallejo llevada al cine; el film (2000), dirigido por Barbet Schroeder, permite apreciar el particular lenguaje del escritor en su faceta como guionista y cómo ambos textos, el literario y el fílmico, expresan la particular visión que Vallejo sostiene sobre la vida, Colombia, la violencia, la muerte y los animales. La Virgen de los sicarios (1994) by Fernando Vallejo engages in conversation with the author’s obsessions and formerly covered themes in the El río del tiempo pentalogy and in his subsequent narrative and essayistic production. This study approaches the only work of Vallejo that has been taken to the cinema; the film (2000), directed by Barbet Schroeder, allows us to appreciate the author’s particular language in his role as a script writer and how both, the literary and filmic texts, express Vallejo’s special vision on life, Colombia, violence, death and animals.
