Abstract

The study seeks to expose how business law is being affected by Social Law, in general, through the implementation of the triple dimension of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental; in particular, through the guarantee of the principles of equality and non-discrimination between men and women. Its foundation is decent work (8 SDG) and gender equality and women’s empowerment (5 SDG) of the 2030 Agenda. The principles underlying these objectives are set out in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and in the European Pillar of Social Rights, texts that inspire secondary law, the directives under analysis, to be transposed (or already transposed) by the Member States, hard law, but also the soft law of the European Union. Corporate governance, being analyzed, in particular, the appointment and composition of boards of directors, their current and future regulation. Corporate social responsibility, the social dimension of the so-called sustainability reports, focusing the study on the respect for human rights, the fundamental ILO conventions, as well as social and personnel-related aspects, decent work. This entails some consequences, which are drawn by way of a conclusion.
