Abstract
In this review shows the definitions about several concepts: fear, anxiety and dental phobia. The prevalence and incidence of these dental disorders in different populations are also presented. The main consequences in buco-dental health and care, as well as the most important dental disorders suffer from patients who have high levels of fear, anxiety and dental phobia are showed. The antecedentes of these disorders, their acquisition on set variables are reviewed in children and adults. The review shows the dental treatment elements that originate and increase in fear and anxiety in the patients.
