Ageing, residential independence and caresfamilies on the move

Resumen

El aumento de la longevidad y el progresivo envejecimiento implican cambios, que pueden describirse como procesos de transición. Por una parte, se observa la importancia del mantenimiento de las relaciones intergeneracionales a través de estructuras familiares de tipo beanpole, que aglutinan muchas generaciones con pocos miembros. Por otra, en la esfera de los cuidados, la transición viene marcada por el balance entre cuidados dados y recibidos según la edad. Por último, en la esfera de la movilidad, los cambios residenciales implican no solo la emancipación o la convivencia con los mayores sino también el acercamiento o alejamiento residencial de ellos. A partir de los datos procedentes de the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) y del Census Hub de Eurostat se ilustran estos cambios para el conjunto de Europa._____________________________________________________________
