Abstract

COVID-19 has promoted the introduction and practice of new distance learning modalities (online andhybrid), encouraging research on them. Alongside the obvious advantages shown during the pandemic, these learning modalities present weaknesses in terms of learner involvement and collaboration amongthem. Some authors suggest involving students by giving them greater responsibility by encouragingtheir active participation or introducing activities that require greater dynamism on their part. In line withthe postulates of current didactic strategies, such as Learner-Generated Digital Media (LGDM), onepossible way of introducing all this would be to encourage student participation in the generation ofdigital materials for use in class. However, its practice is still very limited in blended higher education. This poster describes an experience of educational innovation developed by professors of the Facultyof Economics and Business Administration of the largest Spanish blended university (National Univer-sity of Distance Education, UNED), consisting of promoting the inclusion of students in the learningprocess by creating digital content to solve problems of the subject. In this way, students practice, ac-quire knowledge about the content to be developed and collaborate with other students to prepare thesubject. The results indicate that the initiative has been highly valued by the students, helping them toacquire transversal competencies that they are not usually very well developed in blended universities.
