Resumen
The categories of the «dances» that UNESCO has used are an illustrative example of the relevance they have in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the different cultures of the world. And its breakdown allows us to understand an enormous diversity of functions and meanings that they have for the peoples. From this perspective of diversity, it is possible to assess what the Danza de los Enanos de La Palma represents as a contribution to the World Heritage. A representation that is also achieved and necessarily considering its insertion in a context in whose articulation it plays an important role. And just as a symbolic representation, it reflects and at the same time activates the interactions between past and present time, between the coast and the interior, between the generations, between the ages of man, linking both the festive cycle and the lustral cycle.
