Résumé

After the Reconquest, the area of Talavera de la Reina was repopulated reaching its peak in 13th century with the arrival of people of very diverse back-grounds and religions. Jews and Mudejars, as wel as those who decided ti remain in the area following the end of the Muslim Talabīra, and potencially inherut the land, established their own religious communities. The Christian authorities allowed them to makeuse of specific venues essential for preserving their culture. Talavera's urban area was thus designed bearing in mind that mosques, synagogues, bath, cemeteries and residential areas would be located within its walls. With the passing of time, the varios inhabitants grouped together to from distinct quarters within the aim of segregating themselves.
