Abstract

There is a generic rule in intellectual property that consists of a work being protected by copyright from the moment it is created. This principle, however, is a presumption that admits evidence to the contrary. But what consequences does this precept have? First, a work does not need to be registered in the Registry (although it is always recommended that it be done) in order to be granted protection through intellectual property. And, second, it will be up to the legitimate creator to prove his authorship. However, there are certain requirements that must be met and for which copyright is not always recognized. Precisely, this is the case of the film Yesterday, in which a film script is transformed into an audiovisual work without infringing copyright. Due to its unquestionable projection and interest, we reflect in this article on this very relevant issue regarding this specific case.
