Abstract

The issue of terrorism goes beyond the purely military, and therefore many of the studies on this subject have focused on the political, social or psychological aspects of the method of terrorism. Some scholars have also focused on the financial aspect, studying the sources and channels of terrorist financing or the costs of their attacks. Fever, however, have based their studies on economic theory. The possibility of analysing this issue from the point of view of economic theory, in particular microeconomics, sheds light on the decision-making process of terrorist groups, and opens up transcendental lines of research for the design of more effective counter terrorism policies.
