Doctor by the Universidad de Salamanca with the thesis El anti judaísmo en el cristianismo occidental de los siglos IV y V 1997. Supervised by Dr. Pablo de la Cruz Díaz Martínez.

Ph.D. in Ancient History (University of Salamanca) in 1997, he has been a Researcher within the “Ramón y Cajal” Excellence Program until September 30, 2013; then, “Profesor Contratado Doctor”, and since March 6, 2017 he is Lecturer in Ancient History at UNED (Madrid). He has recognized 4 six-year research periods (1995-2002; 2003-2009; 2010-2015 and 2016-2021 periods). On the other hand, he has the I3 Certification of the Quality of the Production and Scientific-Technological Activity (Incentive Program for the Incorporation and Intensification of Research Activity): 17-V-2013. He has been Visiting Scholar at the Universities of Parma, Sorbonne-Paris IV, Bari Aldo Moro, Cambridge and Alma Mater Studiorum-Università di Bologna. From 1996, he has participated in 13 «I+D+i Projects» of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and in one of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of the Argentine Republic. He is the scientific editor (with Gonzalo Bravo) of 14 congresses of the “Interdisciplinary Association of Roman Studies”, of which he has been, in turn, Secretary General until 2017. He has convened and edited the international congress “Classical Sources in Judaism: from Sophia to Hokmah” (Rome, 4-5 December 2008) (ed. Madrid: Signifer, 2009) and “Social and Religious Marginalized in Late Roman Hispania and Visigoth” (Madrid, 26-27 April 2012) (ed. Madrid: Signifer, 2013). His latest contribution to scientific collaboration has been the edition (together with Dominic Moreau) of the volume in honor of Professor Javier Arce entitled Academica libertas. Essais en l’honneur du professeur Javier Arce, Turnhout: Brepols, 2020 [ISBN: 978-2-503-58449-2]. Among his publications as single author, he has 9 Scientific Books (two of them also translated into Italian), 2 Teaching Manuals and nearly 120 Articles and Scientific Book Chapters.
