Abstract
We report on an activity developed by the teaching team of the “Circuit theory and electronics” course. The aim of the activity is twofold: first, to encourage greater student participation in the learning process and, second, to develope new methods for evaluating learning outcomes. The activity consists of offering a set of simulation practices to be carried out voluntarily by the students. The development of the activity included the choice of software, the production of an instruction manual on the selected software and several online tutorials on the use of the selected software, and the development of eight practice guidelines. The evaluation of the learning results is carried out through the practice reports elaborated by the students. The grade obtained contributes to the final grade of the subject in a summative way.
