Zusammenfassung

This paper studies entrepreneurship as a complex phenomenon developed in a specific regional context through the concept “entrepreneurial ecosystem”, which precisely emerges to show the impact of location and interactions as a key aspect of the entrepreneurial activity. After examining the influence of the small businesses, the article analyses the notion of entrepreneurial ecosystem and the main ecosystem frameworks to conclude with the need for a better approach considering the dynamics of the ecosystem and also indicators and metrics to evaluate its potential.
