Doctor by the Universidad de Murcia with the thesis Hacia una poética del artículo de costumbres (1830-1850). 2013. Supervised by Dr. Ana Luisa Baquero Escudero.

My research focuses on two main 19th-century literature issues: costumbrismo and "artículo de costumbres" (sketch of manners/tableau des moeurs/skizze der sitten). I'm interested in all kind of literary genres in which social customs and manners turned into artistic topic since 18th- to 19th century: moral weeklies or "spectators", sketches, "tableaux", "panoramas", "it-fiction", panoramic literature, literary physiologies, among others. Additionally, I am interested in the history of books and reading (18th and 19th centuries) and I have studied biographies of nineteenth-century publishers such as Ignacio Boix and Clémentine Denné Schmitz.
