Resumen
Este artículo estudia el emprendimiento como un fenómeno complejo que se desarrolla en un contexto regional concreto a través del concepto “ecosistema emprendedor”, que surge precisamente para ilustrar el impacto de localización y la interacción en el desempeño de la actividad emprendedora. Tras poner en contexto la relevancia de las pequeñas organizaciones, se estudian los principales marcos de referencia para analizar los ecosistemas emprendedores y concluye con la necesidad de avanzar en la definición de un mejor marco teórico, así como de indicadores sobre su potencial.
